- A clean, dry cloth or microfibre towel
- A squeegee or credit card wrapped in a soft cloth
- A tape measure and pencil for positioning
- Painter's tape for temporary alignment
- A level (optional, for perfectly straight placement)
Preparing the Surface
Surface preparation is the single most important step for a lasting application. Wall stickers adhere best to smooth, clean, dry surfaces. Start by wiping down the wall with a damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, and any oily residue. Let the surface dry completely before you move on.
Avoid applying stickers to freshly painted walls. Wait at least two to three weeks for the paint to fully cure. Textured walls, brick, or heavily porous surfaces may not provide ideal adhesion. Smooth painted plasterboard, glass, metal, and laminate surfaces work best.

Step-by-Step Application
Once your wall is clean and dry, it's time to apply your sticker. Follow these steps for a perfect result every time.
- Step 1: Unroll the sticker and let it flatten on a table for a few minutes.
- Step 2: Hold the sticker against the wall and use painter's tape to mark the desired position. Step back and check alignment from a distance.
- Step 3: Peel back a few inches of the backing paper from the top edge, folding it under.
- Step 4: Align the exposed adhesive edge with your marked position and press it firmly against the wall.
- Step 5: Slowly peel the backing paper away while smoothing the sticker onto the wall with your squeegee, working from top to bottom and centre to edges.
- Step 6: Once fully applied, go over the entire surface with the squeegee to ensure firm contact.
- Step 7: If your sticker has a transfer tape layer, slowly peel it off at a sharp angle, pressing down any edges that lift.

Tips for Avoiding Bubbles and Wrinkles
Air bubbles are the most common concern when applying wall stickers, but they're easy to prevent and fix. The key is to work slowly and apply even pressure from the centre outward.
If a small bubble does appear, prick it with a fine needle and smooth the vinyl flat with your finger. For larger bubbles, carefully peel back the sticker to just past the bubble and reapply slowly.
