Question 1

How do I choose from your 100+ wall decal designs?

Accepted Answer

Start with the room's main theme — boys' rooms tend toward cars, sports, dinosaurs, or space; girls' rooms toward unicorns, butterflies, mermaids, or florals; nurseries toward soft animals, name decals, and pastel patterns. Use the category filters (Best Sellers, Custom Name, Cars & Racing, etc.) on the collection page to narrow down our 100+ designs. If you're still unsure, our Best Sellers list is a safe starting point — those are the designs hundreds of families have already chosen for similar spaces.

Question 2

What surfaces can wall decals be applied to?

Accepted Answer

Wall decals work on any smooth, clean, non-porous surface: painted walls (most common), interior doors, wardrobe doors, glass (windows, mirrors), tiles, smooth wood furniture, and even appliances like fridges. Avoid: textured walls, unpainted brick, fabric-covered surfaces, and freshly-painted walls (wait 4+ weeks for paint to cure). The surface needs to be dust-free and slightly warm — the vinyl bonds better above 15°C / 60°F.

Question 3

Can I use wall decals on textured or bumpy walls?

Accepted Answer

Honestly — it depends on the texture depth. Light texture usually works fine with smaller decals and firm pressure during application. Heavy textures (stucco, woodchip) don't work — the vinyl can't make full contact with the surface, leading to peeling within days. To check before ordering: press a piece of clear packing tape firmly to your wall. If it sticks flat with no air pockets after 30 seconds, your wall is decal-friendly. If you can see bumps under the tape, the wall is likely too textured.

Question 4

How do I apply a wall decal without bubbles or wrinkles?

Accepted Answer

Three things help most: (1) Clean the wall with a damp cloth and let it fully dry — 30+ minutes. (2) Apply slowly from one edge, using a credit card (or any flat plastic edge — even a phone case works) to press the decal flat as you go, working out bubbles. (3) If bubbles do form, prick them with a pin and smooth the air out with the credit card. Each order ships with step-by-step illustrated instructions in your language. For murals over 100cm, having a second person helps a lot.

Question 5

How are wall decals different from wallpaper?

Accepted Answer

Three big differences. (1) Commitment: decals are removable peel-and-stick vinyl that comes off cleanly years later; wallpaper requires steaming and scoring to remove and often damages paint. (2) Coverage: wallpaper covers the entire wall as a continuous pattern; decals are individual graphics or names placed against your existing wall colour. (3) Cost: a single themed decal set is typically £25-65; wallpapering a single wall costs £160-400 plus installation. Decals are ideal for renters, kids' rooms (where preferences change), and accent walls.

Question 6

How long do wall decals last on the wall?

Accepted Answer

Properly applied to a suitable surface, our decals last 5+ years indoors with no fading, peeling, or yellowing. The premium vinyl + 3M laminate is rated for 7-year indoor durability. Real-world: many of our customers from 2018-2019 still have their original decals up today. When you do want to change the design, the decals come off cleanly — leaving no residue and no paint damage if applied to a properly-cured wall.
